In the morning we visited the DMZ. After passing through the tight security at Freedom Bridge, our first stop was the Third Infiltration Tunnel, secretly dug by North Korea to mobilise their troops into South Korea. This tunnel was discovered by the South Koreans in the 1970s.  Going down the narrow tunnel using the monorial was rather claustrophobic but exhilarating as the temperature dropped as we descended 250m into the tunnel. We walked through the rest of the tunnel, occasionally bumping our helmets against the pipes or low ceiling. Apart from the tunnel visit, we dropped by the Dorasan Station and Imjingak Park. Overall, It was a good opportunity for us to learn more about the dynamic relationship between the North and South Korea, which, technically, are still at war as they had only signed an armistice, not a peace treaty.
