Twinning Programme and Homestay with Kyunghee Girls’ High School - part 1.

The highlight of this trip has arrived. We packed our bags and set off on the Twinning Programme with Kyunghee Girls’ High School, whose beautiful compound is nestled within the Kyunghee University campus. The girls’ excitement grew when we reached the university gates and were in awe of the grand buildings that welcomed us. As the bus meandered its way to the high school, the girls squealed in delight at the ‘Welcome Paya Lebar Methodist Girls’ School (Secondary)’ banner flapping above Kyunghee’s school gates. We were warmly greeted by the Principal, Mr Baek Ki Seob and some of the teachers. At the welcome ceremony that followed, the girls met their Korean buddies and were immediately comfortable with each other. Mr Baek gave a welcome speech and Ms Vivien Chee thanked Kyunghee for hosting us again. We were treated to dance performances by the Kyunghee girls. The traditional dancers were poised and graceful while the K-Pop dancers were confident and stylish. After the welcome ceremony, we had a delicious lunch at the school canteen. Then, it was off to lessons with the Korean Buddies. Tonight, the girls’ will stay with their Korean Buddies.
